Bokoharam- It will take years to completely eliminate -UN

Despite efforts by the military to neutralise the terrorist group Bokoharam,  it has remained resilient and continues to pose as a threat to the north east of Nigeria.
United Nations envoy, Muhammad Ibn Chambas, special envoy to the UN secretary general for West Africa and the Sahel, told AFP on tuesday, "Boko Haram has proven to be a resilient group...I think it will take time to totally eliminate,"

"What we are seeing is that Boko Haram has become part of an international terrorism network."Chambas was speaking on the sidelines of a Lake Chad regional summit in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state and birthplace of Boko Haram.

"Only God" can guarantee Buhari's return within 4 days

The president of the federal republic of Nigeria, today, May 8, embarked on a 4 days medical trip to the UK. According to his special adviser on Media and publicity, Femi Adesina, the medical trip was necessitated after his doctor scheduled an appointment with him.
When asked if the president will return to the country after the scheduled four days, as he's previously extended medical trips in the past, Adesina said only God has the guarantee over such matters.
However, he also noted that if all goes well with his doctor, the president will return to Nigeria as has been officially announced.
He said, "When you talk of guarantee, man cannot guarantee anything. Man cannot even guarantee life because somebody that is here in the morning could be gone in the afternoon; so in terms of guarantee, nobody can guarantee anything.
"But then, in terms of the health of Mr President, I'll just say there's no cause for alarm because he is up and about, he's doing his duties and what he's going for is a review. We all need that from time to time. There's nobody that is 100% healthy. He's just going for a review so I want to believe that he'll leave today and come back on Saturday as has been planned.
"But like I said, you know, it is only God that has a final authority on things but all things being equal, he'll be back on Saturday."

PSG Digne joins Barcelona

France international defender Lucas Digne has joined Barcelona on a five-year deal from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain, the Catalan club said on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old left back spent last season on a successful loan deal at Serie A’s Romaand had been expected to move there permanently.
But Barcelona have sealed the stylish Lille-trained player’s services in a deal worth 16.5 million euros ($18.26M) with a potential four million add on.
“His pace on the left makes him a threat going forward as does his excellent technical quality on the ball,” Barca said in a press release.
Digne, whose buy-out clause is 60 million euros, was part of Didier Deschamps’ 23-strong France squad for Euro 2016, but didn’t play a single minute, with the experienced Patrice Evra preferred in the starting XI.
Digne will arrive in Barcelona on Thursday to undergo a medical and sign his contract.
